About Laurel

Healing begins when we feel safe enough to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with ourselves.

My work is grounded in warmth, curiosity, nervous system awareness, and the belief that our responses often make sense when we understand what shaped them.

I don't believe therapy is about fixing what is wrong with you. I see it as a place to become curious about your internal landscape—the patterns you've developed, the ways your nervous system learned to protect you, and the parts of yourself you may have learned to quiet along the way.

Together, we make room to listen.

Healing rarely happens through insight alone.

Healing isn't just about understanding yourself.

You may already know why you respond the way you do. You may understand where certain patterns began or recognize when your nervous system becomes activated.

But insight doesn't always change what happens inside of us.

My work integrates nervous system awareness, somatic psychology, relational therapy, depth-oriented psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care. Rather than focusing solely on what you think or know, we also become curious about what you're experiencing emotionally, relationally, and in your body.

The goal isn't to push past your responses.

It's to understand them well enough that something different becomes possible.

A Grounded Approach to Healing

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and deeply relational.

Rather than asking,

“What's wrong with you?”

We become curious about:

What happened?

What has your nervous system learned?

What helped you survive?

What is your internal landscape trying to communicate?

What becomes possible when those parts finally feel understood?

There isn't a predetermined place we're trying to get to. We follow what emerges with curiosity, allowing your experiences to unfold at a pace that feels meaningful and safe enough for you.

“There’s nothing ‘wrong’ with any of us. We’re simply having a human experience.”

Somatic & Nervous System Work

Insight is important.

But healing also happens in the body.

Together we'll explore physical sensations, emotions, protective responses, and nervous system patterns to better understand what your body has been communicating all along.

Rather than immediately trying to change or override those responses, we become curious about them.

What happens when your chest tightens?

What do you notice before you shut down?

What changes when you feel safe?

Over time, this work can create more room to notice what you're experiencing, understand what your nervous system needs, and respond with greater agency.

Depth-Oriented Therapy

Sometimes we understand a pattern and still find ourselves repeating it.

You may find yourself wondering:

“Why do I keep ending up here?”

or

“Why do I keep repeating the same pattern?”

Depth-oriented therapy creates room to explore the relationships, beliefs, experiences, and unconscious patterns that may be shaping how you move through your life.

Rather than judging those patterns, we become curious about where they came from, what they may have protected, and whether they still serve you now.

Sometimes understanding the story beneath a pattern is what finally creates more room for choice and agency.

Spiritual & Symbolic Exploration

For clients who wish to explore spirituality, intuition, dreams, synchronicities, grief, meaning, or existential questions, these conversations are welcome here.

They are approached with curiosity, discernment, psychological safety, and deep respect.

As both a trauma therapist and spiritual intuitive, I don't tell people what their experiences mean.

Instead, we can become curious together.

What does this experience mean to you?

What did you notice in your body?

What feels significant about it?

What happens when you allow yourself to listen inward?

Spirituality doesn't have to be separated from psychological work. When it is meaningful to you, it can become another part of your internal landscape that we explore while remaining grounded in trauma-informed care.

Warm, Reflective, & Conversational

Therapy with me doesn't have to feel formal or clinical.

There may be moments when we sit with something difficult and moments when we laugh. There may be times when I offer an observation, ask a question, or invite you to notice what is happening in your body before we have words for it.

I won't expect you to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or where the conversation needs to go.

We'll begin wherever you are.

With curiosity.

With compassion.

And enough space for your story to unfold.
